In this article, you'll find information on how to create and utilize estimation templates.
Overview
If you frequently work on similar projects, creating a project template for estimating can save you time and ensure consistency across estimates. Instead of starting from scratch, you can use a saved template to quickly set up a new estimate for a client.
You can create a project template from two different locations in Planyard: directly from the sales overview or within an existing estimate.
How to Save an Estimate as a Template
All templates are stem from existing templates. You can at anytime create a new estimate with the sole purpose of using it as a template and then deleting it.
From the Sales Overview
- Go to the ‘Sales’ overview
- Find the estimate you want to save as a template
- Click the three dots in the top right corner
- Click ‘Save as template
From an Open Estimate
- Open the estimate
- Click on the ‘Summary’ tab
- Scroll down to the bottom of the list
- Click ‘Save as template’
Using a Saved Template
When creating a new estimate, you will have the option to select a saved template, allowing you to quickly set up the estimate with predefined cost categories and line items.
