Learn how to create a new estimate in Planyard.
When creating a new estimate in Planyard, you have the option to start from scratch or to use an estimation template. Estimation templates are particularly useful for projects that are similar in nature, allowing you to leverage a previous estimate as a foundation. To use these templates, you must first create them on the platform. Please refer to our guide for instructions on how to set up templates.
Create a New Estimate
To create a new estimate in Planyard, simply follow these steps:
- Click on 'New estimate' located in the top right corner
- Fill out the required information:
- Enter a name for your estimate.
- The quote number will be generated automatically; however, you can modify it after the estimate has been created.
- If you have existing estimating templates, you can upload them to Planyard and select your preferred template from the dropdown menu.
- Choose the client company from the dropdown list. If the client is not already in Planyard, you can easily create a new company by clicking 'Add new client.'
- Select the appropriate contact person for the client. If the contact person is not listed, you can add a new contact by clicking 'Add new contact.'
- Optionally, you can include a description for the estimate.
- You may also add a project address if needed.
- Select the user who will be responsible for preparing the estimate.
- Attach any relevant files to the file manager on the right-hand side.
- After completing all required fields, click 'Start estimating' to proceed.
