How Do I Release Booked Retention for a Subcontract?

Introduction

Booking retention for a subcontract in Planyard ensures that a portion of the payment is withheld until the project meets all contractual obligations. Once the contract is fulfilled, you can release the booked retention within Planyard. For more information on how to book retention, refer to the Planyard Subcontract Management article.

Release Retention

To release retention for a subcontract, first, go to the ‘Subcontracts’ section in the menu and select the relevant subcontract from the project list.

In the subcontract overview, scroll down past the schedule of values to find the table showing the retained amount. To start the release process, click ‘Return retention’ above the retention table.

A prompt will appear, allowing you to enter the amount of retention to release and upload any related documents. The retention information is available below as you fill out the details.

After entering the necessary information, click ‘Return retention’. The retention table will then be updated with the new information.
